I needed a powerful, customizable and lite weight mod that could do the following for my site
- Set up individual threads as featured threads to show up anywhere on the forums
- Set up the order of such threads and have ability to add/delete such threads
- Set up an award system to reward members whose threads have been featured. Plus maintain a database of all such threads and member awards.
- Build a graphical display of award winners
- Cache all data that is to be used globally
- Display data with info on main portal
